breezy day lakeside

Today we got out the bicycle and trailer and rode around the lakes for the first time this year. Sophia and Anna had a good time and it was a great success over our rides from last year. They were eager to get in the bike trailer and stayed content around Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun. As a reward I stopped off near Calhouns play area and the girls really enjoyed being by the water. Perhaps when the weather warms we'll do some swimming in the lake.

Anna has been practicing her letters and alphabet for a while now but today while we ate left over pizza and peas for lunch she placed two peas on my plate and said "two", then another and said "three". She then kept going one pea at a time and each time would say the number that was on my plate. She successfully made it all the way up to ten. Of course once she exceeded ten peas she just went on to naming random numbers but I thought it was pretty good that she counted out all the peas up to ten.

Yesterday we found ourselves at the Roseville Arboretum is search of some budding flowers however none could be found. We are hoping the large amounts of rain we are getting today will get this spring thing going very soon.
