the iconic and infamous mickey's diner

Momma and I are no strangers to Mickey's Diner and it's fair to say that our opinion of the place is less than favorable. The food is greasy, the cooks are rude and the service is lousy, but when it comes to legendary restaurants it is definitely up there on the list. So when we found ourselves heading to St. Paul to visit the Children's Museum the other day we figured we would grab a bite to eat before we got there and since Mickey's is right next door we decided to give it another try. As expected the place hasn't changed but now when the girls ask us in the future why we never eat there we can tell them that we've been there and done that; and here are the pictures to prove it.

Yesterday evening we headed over to Hiawatha Park for a Nelson family reunion and picnic.

As usual the girls were active and running about.

Anna and Sophia's second cousin Becca was there with her boyfriend. The girls really enjoyed and for the most part preferred hanging out with our hip teenage relatives versus the rest of us old folks.

While we have visited this park before for some swimming fun, none was to be had this fine evening since we didn't have our suits, but they didn't mind too much.
