hiking the cascade

Anna and Sophia really enjoyed hiking up the Cascade river yesterday. There was some rugged terrain but they saw lots of forest and pretty water falls.

During our hike down we spotted a wooly caterpillar, the girls were very interested in it but after a bit we set him free and continued on with our adventure.

Afterwards we went down to Cutface beach for a picnic.

Sophia had a good time collecting rocks and even found a nice agate to bring home.

Usually a trip to Wabun Park would mean swimming on account of they have the best wading pool in town, but yesterday the weather took a turn for the better; as it was much cooler and just a wee bit on the chilling side for being in the water. It was just as well for we had big toys to play on and a picnic to attend and it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday.
