monarch festival

Today we went to Lake Nokomis where the releasing of the Monarch butterflies for their yearly migration back to Mexico took place. It was a great celebration with live bands and festive latin dancers...

...and of course; while we were there we had to test out the parks fun toys.

The girls love the chance to pick out their favorite album whether it's one of the classics or new music.

Sophia seems to be very particular in picking out random selections while Anna has a tendency to pick out the Beatles Greatest Hits '62 to '66 or Them Crooked Vultures (although I suspect that she goes for those two albums based solely on the color of the cover; both of which happen to be red).

Regardless; in the end it is all about getting to dance.....and oh how they love to dance.
