Yesterday we headed down to Blooming Prairie for the almost world famous 4th of July Parade. Our first stop and designated home base for the day was great grandpa Nelsons house, from there we walked down to the central park where plenty of fried delights could be found. Before we made it to the park, the girls each received helium balloons and as expected it wasn't long before the balloons made their skyward exit.
We have had helium balloons before, but unlike indoors at home the girls were a bit sad to find these balloons irretrievable.
Luckily we came across a face painting booth where Sophia and Anna were able to get some balloons that would not float away.
In between our gyros and funnel cake the girls found time to play on the park toys with grandma.
Anna and I found time to make some bubbles while we waited for the parade to begin.
Sophia managed to get in a much needed cat nap before the parade.
Tons of candy came our way during the parade turning the girls gooey and sticky with delight.
We have yet to see night time fireworks but the girls did get a small fireworks display with which Anna at one point whispered to momma "turn it off"
Anna made sure to get as much use out of the shade tend, standing in the middle as it was taken apart around her.

Boy, that makes me miss Blooming Prarie! They know how to do the 4th of July right. My best ones have been there. The girls looked like they had lots of fun in between naps and tent shades:)
